Senior QA & Test Automation Engineer


Experience: 8–12 years

Environment: Cloud-native (AWS), Early-stage Startup

Focus: Test Strategy, Automation-first QA, Cross-Device UX, GenAI-enabled Testing


Role Summary


We are hiring a Senior QA & Test Automation Engineer to own quality strategy and execution for a multi-sided home services marketplace platform.


This is an automation-first role focused on building robust test strategies, automated test suites, and intelligent testing workflows across backend APIs, web, and mobile applications. You will use modern automation tools and GenAI platforms to improve coverage, speed, and confidence in releases.


What You’ll Do


Test Strategy & Quality Ownership (Primary)

  • Define and own the end-to-end test strategy for the marketplace platform
  • Identify and document critical user journeys across:
  • Customers
  • Service providers
  • Internal/admin users
  • Create comprehensive test plans, test scenarios, and test cases
  • Ensure test coverage across:
  • Functional correctness
  • Cross-browser and cross-device compatibility
  • User experience and usability
  • Act as the quality owner for releases


Test Automation (Core Focus)

  • Build and maintain automation frameworks (tool-agnostic, automation-first)
  • Create automated tests for:
  • Backend APIs
  • Web applications
  • Mobile applications
  • Develop and maintain:
  • Regression suites
  • Smoke and sanity tests
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
  • Minimize manual testing through smart automation


GenAI & Intelligent Testing

  • Use GenAI tools to:
  • Generate test cases and scenarios
  • Identify edge cases and negative paths
  • Assist with test maintenance and optimization
  • Continuously evaluate and adopt modern QA tools to improve productivity
  • Apply AI-assisted approaches to improve test effectiveness


Cross-Device & UX Validation

  • Ensure consistent behavior and experience across:
  • Browsers
  • Devices
  • Operating systems
  • Validate real-world user experience flows
  • Identify usability issues early and collaborate with product teams


Collaboration & Leadership

  • Work closely with backend, frontend, mobile, and product teams
  • Review requirements early to identify risks and test gaps
  • Collaborate on performance and load testing initiatives
  • Mentor QA engineers and raise quality standards
  • Advocate for quality as a shared engineering responsibility


Must-Have Skills

  • 8–12 years of experience in QA, testing, or test automation, Python and automation scripting
  • Strong experience in test strategy and planning
  • Hands-on expertise in test automation frameworks and tools
  • Experience testing APIs, web, and mobile applications
  • Familiarity with CI/CD-integrated testing
  • Experience using GenAI-assisted testing tools
  • Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills


Good-to-Have / Nice-to-Have

  • Experience testing marketplace or consumer internet platforms
  • Exposure to performance or load testing tools
  • Experience in cloud-native environments
  • Experience mentoring QA engineers
