Quality Assurance Automation Engineer

Our partner is a fast-moving healthcare technology environment building AI-driven platforms, including voice-based systems, where reliability, safety, and scalable quality matter as much as speed of delivery. They are seeking a QA AI Automation Engineer to work at the intersection of QA automation, AI-driven systems, and healthcare reliability. This work focuses on validating complex applications where outputs change based on data, user behavior, and real-world noise, including voice-based AI experiences. You will help shape how quality scales across rapidly evolving AI initiatives, working closely with developers as a technical peer. The right person brings a proactive, engineering mindset, takes responsibility for quality without waiting for direction, and is comfortable testing systems that evolve over time.

Experience and Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience building and testing software systems
• Background working in QA automation within modern, production software environments
• Hands-on experience testing web applications and backend APIs as part of real release cycles
• Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD workflows and release pipelines
• History of close collaboration with software engineers on debugging and quality strategy
• Comfort working in fast-moving teams with limited structure, documentation, or handholding
• Exposure to data-heavy, asynchronous, or complex systems; experience with AI-driven features is a plus
• Experience in healthcare, voice systems, or other reliability-sensitive domains is a plus

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain automated tests for web applications and backend APIs
• Perform manual testing where automation is not yet practical, especially in early or changing features
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support reliable and frequent releases
• Validate system behavior across ongoing deployments and product changes
• Work closely with developers during planning, refinement, and debugging to improve quality early
• Investigate test failures and defects to identify root causes, not just symptoms
• Anticipate edge cases and failure scenarios based on real user behavior and system complexity
• Apply negative testing and risk-based thinking to uncover issues before they reach production
• Test data-driven and asynchronous workflows; exposure to AI-driven features is a plus
• Validate voice-based or conversational workflows where applicable
• Contribute to testing of data flows and integrations that support complex system behavior
• Communicate quality risks, tradeoffs, and gaps clearly to engineering teams
• Take ownership of assigned areas and proactively drive quality without waiting for direction
• Adapt testing approaches as products, tools, and requirements evolve
• Support a culture of shared responsibility for quality across the team
