The Quality Control Technician is a hands-on position working directly with production staff, procurement and Quality Manager to inspect and test our products to ensure conformance with Bodypoint standards and design specifications based on physical and analytical testing; visual/cosmetic inspection; first part measurement and evaluation; data collection and tests as needed for failure analysis. The role is responsible for using inspection tools, measuring parts, reading engineering drawings, doing first article inspections and recording accurate quality control records data and recommending appropriate data-driven actions. This position reports to the Quality Assurance Manager and is a non-supervisory position.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform routine measurements, inspection, and gaging as defined by part standards for incoming and in-process production materials and parts.
- Report any quality issues or non-conformances and seek assistance from the Quality Manager to analyze data.
- Do in-process check per part run on shop floor by required Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs).
- Collaborate with lead inspectors, production staff and quality associate on quality assurance procedures.
- Record measurement data into UniPoint and Syspro database(s).
- Extrapolate test data and presents information via charts or graphs.
- Conduct quality tests to verify the physical performance characteristics of prototype and production parts, record setups and results in photos and videos, taking measurements, and completing test reports summarizing results.
- Prepare samples and write reports on final results in comparison to required standards.
- Verify that product meets pre-determined manufacturer specifications.
- Perform receiving inspection by receiving details in Syspro ERP/MRP system.
- Maintain MRB (Material Review Board) area for any incoming non-conforming parts and run weekly MRB meetings for needed disposition.
- Other duties, responsibilities, and activities as assigned by the Quality Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with High School Diploma or GED.
- Two or more years of experience in Quality Assurance preferred.
- Expert in reading and analyzing engineering drawings.
- Must have technical writing experience, able to format images/videos to create clear and detailed test reports.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic photo/video editing software for creating test reports.
- A team-oriented self-starter who communicates effectively with others.
- Ability to diagnose complex equipment problems and determine solutions and opportunities for improvement.
- Must be able to perform hands-on part inspections using calipers, protractors, micrometers, rulers, height gage, radius gage and other hand tools without the support of computer software.
- Use hand tools to set up test fixtures and operates electric/pneumatic equipment for testing.
- American Society of Quality Certification or Certificate in Quality Management Systems preferred.
- Experience with UniPoint, Syspro Manufacturing Operations Management, and specialized equipment software preferred.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position with an hourly pay rate of $23.00 - $32.62 per hour. It is an on-site position in downtown Seattle working between the hours of 7am – 4pm daily Monday through Friday with weekends as needed.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work is conducted in a production environment around running machines and equipment. The employee is exposed to minimal noise levels in the work environment.
- May be infrequently exposed to hazardous and non-caustic chemicals or solutions.
- Bodypoint provides appropriate PPE for working conditions and environment.
- Sitting, standing, bending, reaching, pulling / pushing, kneeling, twisting, grasping, and walking.
- Transporting and positioning of items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- The person must possess the ability to pass a visual acuity and tactile acuity test for visually and manually inspecting products.
Applicants must be a Washington state resident, willing and able to commute to the Seattle office for work. Remote & hybrid work are not options for this role. This role does not offer any visa sponsorship.
