Job Description

A Quality Engineer in the machine manufacturing industry is responsible for ensuring that products meet the required quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. Their work involves quality control, process improvements, compliance with ISO standards, and problem-solving.

Conduct inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products.

Use precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM, gauges) to check dimensional accuracy.

Perform First Article Inspection (FAI), in-process, and final inspections.

Ensure adherence to product specifications and engineering drawings. Implement and maintain ISO 9001 (Quality Management System) and other relevant ISO standards.

Participate in internal and external audits and ensure compliance with ISO and industry regulations.

Document control and ensure adherence to quality management procedures.Analyze manufacturing processes to identify defects, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.

Use problem-solving techniques like 8D, 5 Whys, and Fishbone Diagrams to address quality issues.

Work on reducing scrap, rework, and production downtime.Maintain quality reports, control plans, inspection records, and ISO documentation.

Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions for quality control.

Prepare and present quality metrics and performance data to management.
