We manufacture Grey Iron and Ductile Iron automotive castings and produce fully machined components for the automotive, tractor, and heavy equipment industry. Our operations include in-house foundry, CNC machining, and final inspection for domestic and export customers.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Quality Head – Foundry & Machine Shop , located in Agra.

The Quality Head will have complete ownership of quality systems across both:

  • Cast Iron / SG Iron Foundry operations
  • CNC Machining and Final Inspection operations

The role involves establishing, controlling, and continuously improving quality from raw casting to finished machined part.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead quality assurance and quality control for:
  • Casting processes (melting, inoculation, molding, pouring, shakeout)
  • Machining processes (CNC/VMC/VTL operations, tooling, fixtures, dimensional control)
  • Develop and implement robust quality systems for both foundry and machining
  • Oversee:
  • Incoming inspection
  • In-process inspection
  • Final inspection and dispatch quality
  • Ensure proper execution of:
  • FAI (First Article Inspection)
  • Process capability studies
  • Control plans
  • Inspection reports with root-cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Drive defect reduction in:
  • Casting defects (blowholes, shrinkage, porosity, hardness issues, inclusions)
  • Machining defects (dimensional variation, surface finish, tool wear effects)
  • Establish and enforce SOPs, quality documentation, and traceability systems
  • Lead internal audits and prepare for customer / third-party audits
  • Work closely with:
  • Foundry production
  • CNC shop
  • PPC
  • Management
  • to ensure stable and predictable quality performance
  • Build a culture where quality is process-driven, not person-dependent

Qualifications

Must-have technical understanding:

  • Strong hands-on knowledge of:
  • Grey Iron and Ductile Iron metallurgy and casting processes
  • CNC machining quality control practices
  • Ability to control both:
  • Casting dimensional + metallurgical quality
  • Machining dimensional + surface finish quality
  • Experience with:
  • FAI, Control Plans, Inspection Reports, Corrective Actions
  • Root cause analysis tools (5 Why, Fishbone, etc.)
  • Clear understanding of:
  • Tolerances, GD&T basics
  • Gauges, instruments, and inspection methods (vernier, micrometer, bore gauge, CMM preferred)

Core skills:

  • Strong expertise in Quality Control & Quality Assurance systems
  • Experience in building and running Quality Management Systems (ISO/IATF exposure preferred)
  • Ability to design structured inspection systems instead of “OK/NG” judgment
  • Strong analytical mindset for defect reduction and process stabilization
  • Leadership experience in managing quality inspectors and shop-floor quality teams
  • Strong communication with production, management, and customers

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in:
  • Metallurgy / Mechanical Engineering / Production Engineering or related field
