Job Title: Quantity Surveyor
Hiring : Immediate
Location: Candolim, Goa
Experience Required: Minimum 5 years
Salary: Rs. 4,80,000 - Rs. 6,00,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Qualification: Diploma or BE Civil
Position Overview
The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for quantity surveying, estimation, costing, rate analysis, tendering, purchases, and billing for ongoing projects, ensuring cost control and timely procurement. The role also involves coordination with project managers, consultants, vendors, and site teams for accurate execution and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed quantity estimates, rate analysis, costing, and stage-wise work schedules with costing.
- Evaluate material quotations, prepare comparative statements, finalise rates in coordination with project managers, and issue purchase orders.
- Follow up with suppliers for timely delivery of materials and coordinate with the Purchase Department as required.
- Maintain and regularly update a register of prevailing market rates for various materials and civil works.
- Measure and verify actual quantities executed on site and prepare running and final bills for ongoing projects.
- Maintain proper registers of quantities, bills, and overall project costs ensuring projects stay within budget while meeting quality standards.
- Carry out the tendering process as per guidelines received from engineering consultants and present comparative analyses of estimates and quoted rates.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong estimation, costing, and rate analysis skills for civil and finishing works.
- Good understanding of drawings, BOQs, construction materials, and execution methods.
- Hands-on experience in tendering, vendor evaluation, and procurement coordination.
- Proficiency in MS Excel; working knowledge of Auto CAD and leveling/measurement instruments preferred.
