Experienced Quantity Surveyor - Darwin / FIFO Opportunities

Huge opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established international construction advisory firm, who are known for delivering major projects across Australia and around the globe.

Location: Darwin-based ideal, as you will be working on N.T. projects; however, we are open to candidates from across Australia, as FIFO arrangements are also available.

Salary: Salary is negotiable and above market, to secure someone who brings value to the team.

This role will be a key anchor for the team, supporting its growth and success. The ideal person would be autonomous, proactive, and comfortable at interpreting drawings. They’re looking to appoint a Senior Q.S who thrives on new challenges. The team is open to candidates from civil, infrastructure, or commercial backgrounds, it’s less about where you’ve come from and more about your attitude, adaptability, and enthusiasm for taking on new projects.

For context, their recent projects include a landmark Darwin infrastructure project ($500mil), which you could be part of. The role would suit someone from a consultancy or contractor background.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate cost advice, pricing estimates, and cost plans.
  • Prepare and review project cost reports, forecasts, and cash flows.
  • Complete detailed trade and elemental take-offs.
  • Measure quantities for variations and price BOQs.
  • Conduct site visits and evaluate completed work for valuations.
  • Prepare and assess payment claims.
  • Assist in achieving commercial goals while managing project risks.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, and internal teams.

Skills & Experience:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Building, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in QS roles, open to candidates from civil, infrastructure, or commercial backgrounds.
  • Strong understanding of drawings, documentation, and commercial project delivery.
  • Proactive, accountable, and able to thrive in dynamic project environments.
  • Proficiency in industry software such as MS Office, Buildsoft, CostX.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have valid Australian working rights.
