To continue to deliver our commitment to the Quality Principle and protect our investment in Enterprise R&D digital capabilities across R&D and Quality systems, the business requires the right level of sustained functional expert support. The Functional Expert organization provides R&D process and systems expertise to the business units’ end users, in alignment with global and regional process and data requirements. It partners closely with and supports Mars Digital Technologies in resolving system issues and implementing new capabilities and system improvements.
The R&D Regional FA Manager leads a team of Functional Analysts within one of 3 regions (EMEA, Asia Pacific, Americas). The function is critical in securing the establishment and maintenance of the regional Functional Analyst team to deliver systems support to regional business units (Pet, MW, Food, RC) and regional functional experts. This role will work closely with Corp functions, Segment’s representatives, Regional Functional Experts and Mars DT.
Key Responsibilities:
R&D DIGITALIZATION - SUSTAIN LEADERSHIP & LINE MANAGEMENT
+ This role leads a team of functional analysts in the regional deployment and maintenance activities to support R&D digitalization agenda
+ Accountable for “excellence in execution of signature processes” and services (including issue resolution, data analysis, reporting and testing)
+ Ensures team’s activities are in line with the overall regional strategy (aligned on by Corporate R&D, Segment Leads and MGS leadership). Delivers on plan within agreed timing and resources. Escalates required changes via proper escalation route and gains alignment on those changes.
+ Develops continuous improvement strategy for signature processes and services based on feedback from customers and partners and aligned KPIs, as part of plan-do-check-act process.
+ Ensures close partnership and collaboration of the team with the Regional Functional Experts to drive an efficient WoW and to maximize end user support for the business units in the region.
+ Ensures all defined program management and operational tools are in place.
Context:
The role works effectively with various stakeholders and functions in Corporate, Segments and in Mars Digital Team to improve our digital R&D products, to enable compliance with our R&D process and ensure user friendliness & efficiency using the R&D systems. There will be some travel required within the region.
SCOPE
This role will manage a team of Functional Analysts. Each FA will be responsible to support a subset of the R&D digital Capabilities. The portfolio of R&D digital capabilities is listed below but not limited to these:
+ Data & Analytics reporting – Existing R&D Systems platforms, Internal FE Network
+ Market traceability systems – Atlas MTR, Agnostic, Nexus, SAP S4
+ Inbound traceability & Testing and conformance systems – Atlas, Nexus, SAP S4
+ Specification management systems – Veritas, Core PLM
+ Recipe management systems – ARA, RMS, Core PLM
+ Core Quality Management systems – Nexus, Connected Quality, Salesforce
+ Quality Risk management systems – Nexus, HQRM
+ Supplier & Material Quality Management systems – Nexus
+ Science & Regulatory Affairs management systems – Claims, others
+ Other new systems as part of R&D digital transformation (evolving scope)
GUARDIAN OF QUALITY
+ Is instrumental in developing and encouraging a culture of quality and food safety awareness and continuous improvement via peer group interfaces across the Corporation. Ensures QMS compliance for FE Network.
Education & Professional Qualifications:
+ Minimum bachelor degree in science or IT systems or equivalent in food safety/food science or related subject area is desirable
+ Minimum of 5 years’ work experience in Q&FS, SQA, SRA, R&D or Supply Chain
+ Proven ability either as a line manager or as a functional manager across multiple countries/cultures, in-person and remotely
+ A Q&FS or R&D experience across multiple and in global environment preferred
+ Experience in Manufacturing and or supply chain is desirable
+ Mars R&D Systems savvy
+ A proven track record in delivering projects; IT projects experience is desirable
Knowledge/Experience:
+ A proven ability to lead and influence senior leaders and their teams across all segments, all regions and across multiple functions
+ Proven ability to lead teams of associates. Line management experience preferred.
+ Good understanding of business process, systems and change management.
+ Excellent networker, easily builds rapport remotely, and experienced in delivering projects through others
+ Excellent communication skills (oral and written). Fluent in English
+ Creative, flexible and enjoys working in a complex, rapidly changing environment
