About this role:
As part of the Record to Report (RTR) team you will be part of a talented team that handles accounting activities in our Berlin Office. The following activities are part of your area of responsibility:
- Drive Financial Insight & Strategy: Own the month-end closing process, conducting in-depth variance analysis and financial investigations across critical accounts (e.g., payroll, accruals, fixed assets) to deliver strategic insights and data-driven recommendations to management.
- Support Process Improvement & Automation: Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of Record-to-Report (R2R) processes and drive standardization. Experience with data tools (like SQL, Python, or Power BI) is a definite plus and will be leveraged to identify and implement automation opportunities.
- Ensure Reporting Accuracy & Compliance: Oversee complex accounting areas, including payroll, lease accounting (IFRS 16), intercompany transactions, and consolidation, guaranteeing high-quality monthly balance sheet reconciliations and accurate P&L analysis.
- Mentor & Develop Future Talent: Act as a key mentor for junior and mid-level team members, actively fostering skill development, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement within the wider accounting function.
- Contribute to Global Reporting: Play a vital role in supporting the preparation of both statutory and non-statutory Financial Statements.
- Enhance Control Environment: Proactively drive improvements in quality and efficiency by implementing new processes and systems to strengthen the team's workflow and ensure robust SOX compliance and internal controls.
What will you bring to the table?
- Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance or professional education in a similar field
- Relevant general ledger experience while working in a dynamic and multinational environment.
- Experience with IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards). Workday and German/Austrian GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) is a plus!
- Good experience in Microsoft Office and Excel/Google Sheet.
- Good organisational skills and ability to work under pressure and the ability to efficiently manage priorities while meeting strict deadlines.
- You are a team-player (multi-tasker) with strong interpersonal skills and a passion for collaborating.
- You can set objectives, meet deadlines, and are detail-oriented.
- You are fluent in English (written and spoken). German is a big plus.
