Will float between 3 cost centers covering clinics, surgery, and international pain management. Must be open to a very flexible schedule. Complete Description:Job Objective: A brief overview of the position. The position performs a variety of radiology procedures utilizing all aspects of the equipment. Hospital-Wide Supporting Committments SAFETY 1. Completes annual health, safety, compliance reviews and any department/hospital specific requirements within the expected timeframe. 2. Corrects and/or reports any unsafe conditions to extension 4759 or [email protected]. 3. Adheres to hospital and department safety and compliance policies and procedures. 4. Understands the importance of immediately reporting on-the-job injuries online and to your supervisor. 5. Wears identification badge at all times ensuring it can be read. Requires the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served (i.e. Neonates to geriatric). 2. Ability to operate radiographic equipment (i.e C-ARM, R&F room and portable equipment). 3. Ability to prioritize workload. Essential Responsibilities 1. Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations. 2. Follows ALARA guideline. 3. Utilizes proper radiation protection to protect patient and all from excessive radiation. 4. Demonstrates knowledge of patients age-specific need and provide the care needed. 5. Obtains appropriate medical history before patient examination and prepares patient for exam. 6. Documents any changes in patient condition using appropriate forms and contacts Radiology RN or appropriate person when necessary. 7. Keeps patient informed of any delays, and answer any questions pertinent to exam. 8. Prioritizes stat procedures, organize patient flow and keep communication with staff, when working in the Emergency department. 9. Demonstrates knowledge of O.R sterile field precautions. 10. Performs Radiographic procedures of highest technical quality. 11. Performs appropriate procedures as ordered. Assist Radiologist performing procedure. 12. Maintains proficiency in use of all Radiology equipment and reporting all deficiencies to immediate supervisor. Critiques radiographs for diagnostic quality and others properties and appropriately consults with Lead Tech and or Radiologist to clarify any are uncertainty. 13. Documents procedures in PACS. Knowledge of CR and DR system 14. Maintains knowledge of patient charting, required forms and billing procedures. 15. Prioritizes procedures and utilize time wisely to complete daily workload within scheduled shift. 16. Assists in other areas of the Radiology department as needed. 17. Performs Receptionist and Radiology Assistant duties as needed. 18. Maintains cleanliness of x-ray rooms and radiology areas. 19. Maintains cleanliness of all Radiology equipment in; Radiology department, Operating Room. 20. Checks supplies and stock as necessary, reporting any deficiencies. 21. Performs other duties as assigned.
