Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior RF Optimization Engineer with strong expertise in LTE, VoLTE, and 5G networks . The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in 5G RF optimization projects , team leadership, and advanced network performance troubleshooting. This role requires technical depth, leadership capability, and flexibility to work across global time zones. Must have good communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and execute RF optimization activities for LTE, VoLTE, and 5G (NSA/SA) networks.
Perform cluster and multi-layer optimization to improve coverage, mobility, capacity, throughput, and traffic management.
Analyze and optimize Radio Resource Management (RRM) functions including handover control, admission control, and capacity management.
Conduct Layer 3 analysis using tools such as XCAL and XCAP .
Troubleshoot network performance issues including throughput degradation, call drops, access failures, and RACH issues .
Support and optimize 5G features , including DSS optimization, mmWave optimization, VoNR , NSA, and SA deployments.
Implement and tune 5G and LTE radio network parameters and new feature rollouts.
Run traces and perform deep-dive troubleshooting using industry-standard tools.
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Junior RF Engineers and Drive Testers , ensuring delivery quality and adherence to processes.
Prepare and present optimization reports, recommendations, and performance insights to stakeholders.
Required Qualifications & Experience
10+ years of hands-on experience in RF optimization for LTE/VoLTE/5G networks.
Minimum 2 years of experience specifically in 5G RF optimization projects .
At least 3 years of experience managing teams of RF Engineers and Drive Testers.
Strong understanding of network performance KPIs and troubleshooting methodologies.
Proven experience with multi-layer cluster optimization for LTE/VoLTE/5G.
Hands-on experience with drive test and analysis tools such as TEMS, X-CAL, XCAP, Windcatcher .
Experience running and analyzing network traces for issue resolution.
Ability to work flexibly across East and West time zones .
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in:
Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Computer Science
Or a related engineering discipline
