Reporting To: National Sales Head / Director
Role Purpose
The Regional Business Manager is the business custodian of the region, responsible for sustainable growth, team excellence, and market leadership.
This role demands a leader who understands nutrition science, farmer mindset, and disciplined execution, and who can translate Doctor Agrovet’s philosophy into consistent on-ground results.
Key Responsibilities
1. Regional Business Ownership
- Own and deliver sales volume, value, and profitability targets for the region.
- Drive balanced growth across calf, heifer, transition, and lactation nutrition portfolios.
- Ensure pricing discipline, scheme effectiveness, and margin protection.
- Build the region as a long-term, sustainable business, not for short-term volume chasing.
2. Distribution & Channel Excellence
- Strengthen and expand the dealer and distributor network in dairy-dense territories.
- Ensure healthy secondary sales and stock rotation.
- Build high-trust partnerships with dealers through transparency and consistency.
- Execute dealer engagement programmes aligned with Doctor Agrovet’s values.
3. People Leadership & Culture Building
- Lead, mentor, and develop Area Sales Managers and frontline teams.
- Build a culture of ownership, accountability, and ethical selling.
- Conduct regular fieldwork, coaching, and structured reviews.
- Identify and groom future leaders for the organisation.
4. Farmer Connect & Nutrition Leadership
- Ensure strong farmer engagement through meetings, village programmes, and demos.
- Promote life-stage nutrition concepts (calf care, transition management, lactation nutrition).
- Position Doctor Agrovet as a trusted advisor, not just a feed supplier.
5. Market Intelligence & Strategic Execution
- Monitor competition, pricing trends, schemes, and product movement.
- Identify region-specific opportunities and risks.
- Support new product launches with focused, science-backed execution plans.
- Provide structured market feedback to marketing, production, and leadership teams.
6. Governance, Systems & Discipline
- Ensure strict adherence to company policies, compliance norms, and ethical standards.
- Maintain accurate forecasting, MIS, and business dashboards.
- Drive cost efficiency and ROI-focused decisions at regional level.
- Uphold Doctor Agrovet’s reputation for integrity and reliability in the market.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Education
- Veterinary / Animal Nutrition/ Agriculture background or MBA preferred
- Veterinary / Animal Nutrition background is highly desirable
Experience
- 8–15 years in cattle feed / animal nutrition / Agri-input industry
- Minimum 3–5 years in a multi-district or regional leadership role
- Proven track record of team handling, channel expansion, and profitable growth
