The DevOps Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the build and CI/CD infrastructure supporting software development teams across the organization. This role focuses on Kubernetes build cluster management using Rancher, integration with Jenkins, and virtual machine lifecycle management on OLVM. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with automation first thinking and a commitment to operational excellence

Kubernetes Platform Management (Rancher)

• Administer, monitor, and scale Rancher-managed Kubernetes clusters used for CI workloads.
• Implement automation for cluster provisioning, node lifecycle, OS image updates, and resource optimization.
• Enforce security, governance, and compliance requirements for container based build workloads.

CI/CD & Build Infrastructure
• Design, configure, and maintain Jenkins pipelines, shared libraries, and automation workflows.
• Ensure reliable and efficient execution of builds, tests, and deployments across hybrid build environments (Kubernetes + VM-based executors).
• Troubleshoot pipeline failures, environment inconsistencies, and build agent issues.

Virtual Machine Management (OLVM)
• Provision, configure, and maintain virtual machines used as persistent build agents and supporting infrastructure.
• Manage VM templates, lifecycle processes, patching schedules, and performance monitoring.
• Collaborate with platform/SRE teams to address issues related to host health, storage, networking, and capacity.

Infrastructure Automation
• Develop automation using Ansible, Python, Bash, Groovy, or other tooling for provisioning and system configuration.
• Apply Infrastructure-as-Code principles to ensure consistency and repeatability across environments.
Operational Excellence
• Maintain high availability and performance of build infrastructure, Kubernetes clusters, and VM resources.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to support production build operations and urgent issues.
• Contribute to documentation, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications
• Hands-on experience with Jenkins (pipeline development, administration, plugin management).
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes (Rancher preferred) and containerized build execution.
• Experience with OLVM or similar virtualization platforms (oVirt, VMware, KVM).
• Solid Linux and Windows administration skills (Windows 11, Windows Server, RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu).
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, Groovy).
• Strong understanding of Git, branching strategies, and DevOps best practices.
• Demonstrated experience in infrastructure automation and troubleshooting complex build environments.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible or other infrastructure automation/orchestration tools.
• Exposure to secure build environments, artifact management, vulnerability scanning, or supply chain security.
• Familiarity with monitoring, logging, or observability systems (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk).
• Background supporting large-scale build farms or distributed CI systems.
