We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Research & Development Manager to join our team in New Maadi, Egypt. This is a long-term opportunity for a professional with a strong background in PVC compound formulation and the plastic industry. The ideal candidate will lead innovative projects, drive product development, and contribute to the growth and success of our organization.

Responsibilities


As the Research & Development Manager, you will:

  • Lead key R&D projects to support business objectives.

  • Develop and improve PVC compound formulations for both soft and rigid applications.

  • Create and enhance research programs to improve existing products and develop new ones.

  • Understand customer expectations and ensure product alignment with their needs.

  • Identify and implement advanced technologies used by suppliers, competitors, and customers.

  • Collaborate with Marketing and Operations to establish project goals and priorities.

  • Transfer new technologies, products, and manufacturing processes into and out of the company.

  • Research, design, and evaluate materials, assemblies, processes, and equipment.

  • Suggest training tools to enhance employee performance and skill development.

  • Monitor team metrics and ensure objectives are met.

  • Document all phases of research and development activities.

  • Manage customer relationships, including RFP reviews, customer visits, and product testing.

  • Establish and maintain testing procedures for raw materials, in-process, and finished products.

  • Oversee complex research projects, analyze results, and provide actionable recommendations.

  • Ensure research projects are completed on time and within budget.

  • Represent the company at industry conferences on relevant research topics.

    • Qualifications


    To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A Master’s degree in Engineering or Chemical Sciences.

  • At least 15 years of professional experience, with expertise in PVC compound formulation and the plastic industry.

  • Strong creativity and problem-solving skills to develop innovative solutions.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Excellent leadership and managerial abilities to guide and inspire teams.

  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers, colleagues, and staff.

  • A solid understanding of business principles and practices.

  • Lead and oversee R&D projects from inception to completion.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align research goals with business objectives.

  • Conduct hands-on research and testing to improve product quality and performance.

  • Monitor and evaluate team performance, providing guidance and support as needed.

  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements to maintain a competitive edge.

  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation for all R&D activities.

  • Engage with customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
