Recreation Assistant (Dock Master)

Summary This position is located within Commander, Mid-Atlantic Region, Fleet and Family Readiness Program. The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of duties in support of the Sailing/Marina program. This position is located on Naval Station Norfolk base. Responsibilities Rigs ferry and safety boats, ensuring they are properly fueled and clean each morning and secured at end of day. Ferry's patrons and equipment to and from moored fishing boats and operates safety boats during training sessions, regattas or other on-the-water activities. Assists patrons with pulling boats to and from their storage rack and carrying hulls to the floating dock, launching, dock approach, mooring, pump out station and fueling of boats. Performs minor maintenance, which may include, but is not limited to changing batteries, scraping and cleaning boat bottoms, painting, varnishing boats, repairing piers and decking and replacing floats as necessary.Tows disabled boats to assigned slips or dock. ...
