Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Refrigeration Technician specialising in commercial kitchen refrigeration. This role focuses on service, maintenance and repair of refrigeration systems used in hospitality and foodservice environments. You’ll work in live kitchens, often under time pressure, where uptime matters and response time is critical.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain and repair commercial kitchen refrigeration equipment
  • Rapid fault finding and breakdown response in operational kitchens
  • Preventative maintenance across hospitality and foodservice sites
  • Refrigerant handling and compliance with all regulatory requirements
  • Clear communication with chefs, venue managers and operations teams
  • Accurate completion of service reports, compliance documentation and job notes
  • Management of vehicle stock, tools and spare parts
  • Working safely in busy kitchen environments and confined spaces
  • Coordinating with kitchen installers, electricians and gas technicians as required

  • Cool rooms and freezer rooms
  • Underbench fridges and freezers
  • Upright display refrigeration
  • Prep benches and refrigerated counters
  • Blast chillers and blast freezers
  • Ice machines
  • Cold rooms for food production and storage

Skills & Experience

  • Trade qualified Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician
  • ARCtick Refrigerant Handling Licence - essential
  • Demonstrated experience in commercial kitchen or foodservice refrigeration
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to work independently in fast-paced, customer-facing environments
  • Clear, practical communication style
  • Strong time management and job prioritisation skills

Licences & Requirements

  • Current Australian driver’s licence
  • White Card
  • Electrical disconnect/reconnect licence - preferred
