If so, South Dakota Mines invites you to join our dynamic Admissions team as a Regional Admissions Counselor.About the RoleAs a Regional Admissions Counselor, you’ll be more than just a recruiter—you’ll be a mentor, a guide, and the face of South Dakota Mines for many prospective students and their families. Your primary recruitment territory will be Minnesota, but there will be additional areas as assigned. As the recruitment manager, you’ll be recruiting and leading students through every stage of the admissions process, from initial contact to enrollment, and will represent South Dakota Mines in a variety of settings both on and off campus.


This is a benefited, full-time remote position, that will be based in or near Minnesota. There is an option to structure the role as either a year-round position (12 months per year) at 40 hours per week or as an 11-month position working 40 hours per week with the weeks of June 22 to July 21 off.


What You’ll Do
  • Connect with prospective students, their families, school counselors, and teachers to share the unique advantages of a South Dakota Mines education.

  • Provide detailed information about our programs, campus life, and financial aid options.

  • Travel to high schools, college fairs, and other events to meet with potential students in Minnesota and other parts of the assigned territory.

  • Meet prospective students and their families when they schedule an off-campus visit within your territory, ensuring they have a memorable and informative experience.

  • Assist students through the application and enrollment process, ensuring they have a smooth transition to university life.

  • Record, track, and analyze student and visit data in our Slate CRM.
  • Position Requirements
  • A bachelor’s degree is required

  • A driver’s license is required

  • The successful candidate must be able to effectively and positively communicate accurate information about the university, financial aid, university majors and programs, and give recommendations to and counsel prospective students and their families.

  • The ideal candidate will possess a team-orientated spirit and excellent customer service skills along with the ability to work with a variety of constituents.

  • The candidate must have outstanding communication skills and demonstrate organizational and time management skills as well as a strong work-ethic.

  • The ability to work flexible hours, travel overnight and to work evening and weekend hours is necessary.
