Nesco Data Center and Infrastructure is seeking a Data Center Engineer with Cooling Equipment expertise in the Austin, TX area.

Job Title: Data Center Mechanical/Electrical Engineer (Cooling Systems)

Type: Contract (6 weeks to 6 months) with potential direct hire based on performance and synergy with client team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform installation and post-sale support for custom cooling cabinets in data centers.

  • Perform break-fix work on coils, fans, chilling hoses, and other cooling system hardware.

  • Troubleshoot airflow and cooling performance issues.

  • Work from mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, or verbal instructions.

  • Travel to other data center sites as needed, particularly higher-volume locations.

  • Attend initial training (3–5 days) at a designated facility, with all travel costs covered.

  • Qualifications:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to work on coils, fans, and custom cooling hardware.

  • Knowledge of low-voltage electrical systems and part-swapping procedures.

  • Skilled with tools and mechanical disassembly/reassembly.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Willingness to travel for training and occasional site visits.

  • Preferred Experience:

  • Prior work in data centers, critical facilities, or large-scale mechanical/electrical environments.

  • Experience with custom-fabricated mechanical systems.
