The Corporate Affairs function is essential to our global growth strategy. It focuses on engaging with government bodies and stakeholders to navigate policy and regulatoryissues. By fosteringconstructive relationships and actively participating in industryforums, the Corporate Affairs team ensures alignmentwith regulatory frameworks while advancing our strategicobjectives. This functionplays a crucialrole in shapingand implementing strategies that drive businessgrowth and reinforce our industry leadership.
About the role
As a Manager - Corporate Affairs, you will be at the forefront of government relations, policy engagement, and strategic advocacy. Working closely with the Group President – Corporate Affairs and reporting to the General Manager – Corporate Affairs, you will drive initiatives that support business growth and maintain our leadership in the industry.
Key responsibilities:
Government relations and policy advocacy
- Lead government-related initiatives that impact GIG’s business interest
- Develop and spearhead advocacy efforts on priority issues, engaging leadership in public policy and regulatory advocacy
- Engage with government officials and other relevant external stakeholders at all appropriate levels to enhance their understanding of GIG’s products, services and positions, and promote policies that enhance and protect them
Understanding the policy framework, inputs for development and coordination
- Collaborate with relevant business leadersto lead and coordinate policy priorities related to business with the Union Government & State Governments in the East and West India Region
- Develop policy positions and support the creation of thought leadership materials on relevant issues to enhance the business’s marketposition.
- Closely monitor impending changes in relevant legislation, regulations and or government incentive schemes
Industry and external engagement
- Actively participate in industry association meetingsin close coordination with the General Manager and Group President Corporate Affairsteam, driving businessactivity on priorityissues
- Develop business engagement and partnerships with internal stakeholders and support functions to drive business outcomes and continuous improvement within the Corporate Affairs function
- Prepare briefing materials, white papers and presentation for internal and external stakeholders.
Strategic business support
- Collaborate with business leaders to develop strategicpriorities by participating in key processes such as financial planning, product development and strategy development
- Work with legal counsel and business leaders to secure regulatory approvalsneeded to execute
Godrej’s commercial priorities
- Assist businesses in securing governmentsupport, such as financial incentives, and pending dues, to achieve businessgoals
- Lead the Corporate Affairs Team in crisis management situations, ensuring effective communication with relevant stakeholders
Who are we looking for?
Education:
- A Bachelor’s degree along with an advanced degree in business, science, economics, technical, or law
Experience:
- 8 to 14 years (after graduation/post-graduation)
- Proven track record of successful engagement with the Government and key stakeholders in shaping policies to achieve positive businessoutcomes
- Broad understanding of public policy-making and legislative processesat the state and national levels, with the ability to identifyand engage key decision-makers withingovernment
- Ability to work through complex issues to quickly identifytop priority and focus areas
- Experience working with complex organizations to map and engage with key decision-makers/stakeholders
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Officeapplications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Fluency in spokenand written Hindiand English
Skills:
- Self-motivatedand dedicated team player with a proactiveapproach to managingand continuously improving the Corporate Affairs function
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities and skilled in consensus-building and collaborative decision-making processes
- Proactive and result oriented, with strong ability to manage multiple projects/priorities from varied businesses in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent inter-personal skills, with ability to influence and negotiate with senior stakeholders
