Position : Regional Network Deployment & Scaling Engineer (RNDS)

location : Pan India




Role Overview

Support Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Regional Network Deployment & Scaling (RNDS) team in deploying, scaling, and automating global data-center network infrastructure under a 24x7 follow-the-sun support model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deploy greenfield network infrastructure for new OCI regions and child sites
  • Support brownfield scaling:
  • CFAB rack additions
  • Compute expansions
  • Server rack adds & decommissions
  • Build and manage:
  • Data center fabrics
  • Edge networks
  • Backbone & metro fiber networks
  • Execute:
  • Region builds
  • DRCC / Alloy expansions
  • Multi-cloud integrations
  • Butterfly turn-ups
  • Work in CI/CD environments using GitHub & OCI internal tools
  • Develop automation scripts (Python preferred)
  • Network protocol expertise:
  • BGP, OSPF, VXLAN
  • TCP/IP, IPv4, IPv6
  • DNS, DHCP
  • IPSEC, VPN, SSL
  • Work on Jira-based infrastructure projects
  • Participate in project meetings
  • Follow Oracle security & safety standards
  • Provide weekend & on-call support as required


Deliverables (Weekly Expectations)

  • Complete deployments as per NRB project schedule
  • 1 artifact/week in assigned swimlane
  • 20 rack decommission tickets/week
  • 300 server add tickets/week
  • Automation scripts committed to repository
  • Runbooks & technical documentation
  • Knowledge transfer sessions with OCI staff


Acceptance Criteria

  • All deployments validated in JIRA
  • Artifacts reviewed, approved, version-controlled
  • Rack decom tickets validated in ServiceNow
  • Server adds completed with zero critical defects
  • Automation scripts peer-reviewed & approved
  • Runbooks delivered before production releases
  • Knowledge transfer sessions completed with documentation
