Description : The role is responsible to oversee all aspects of quality management within the region, ensuring that projects meet specified quality standards and best practices, while continuously striving for improvement and efficiency
Purpose : To ensure adherence to quality standards as per company standards and instill a culture of excellence across all regional sites through implementation of tailored quality guidelines
Key Result Areas
Principal Accountabilities
- Planning & Budgeting - Keep abreast with industry related best practices, market trends, etc with respect to quality standards. Prepare budgets for the region with inputs from site and consultants and submit for review and approval. Monitor budget compliance through regular reviews. Develop comprehensive regional plans for quality management, seeking necessary approvals for implementation. Coordinate with stakeholders to appoint consultants and third-party personnel, securing necessary approvals.
- Quality Control - Participate in kick-off meetings to provide any addition inputs regarding quality expectations and ensure alignment of all relevant stakeholders. Approve the quality plan for each project within the region. Conduct random inspections to ensure compliance with defined standards. Join weekly quality walk-throughs, update reports with inspection details, approve CAPA, and oversee implementation. Perform random inspections during handovers to confirm unit readiness and provide sign-off. Conduct pre-qualification assessments for vendors and contractors; submit reports to the contracts team. Review documents including material and site inspection reports and third-party reports. Review MIS reports regularly, provide observations and insights to support decision making.
- Quality Assurance - Enforce the Implementation of Birla Quality manual in each project. Review and ensure adherence to quality processes within the region, aligning them with ISO 9001 and other relevant standards. Prepare an audit calendar for the region, considering both internal and external audits, and seek sign-off to finalize the schedule. Conduct internal audits and coordinate with third-party teams for external audits. Work closely with the appointed Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for audits conducted by the ABG group, ensuring that all necessary data is provided for a smooth closure of the audits. Oversee the closure of all audit points and provide support and guidance as and when required. Prepare a training calendar for the region, covering both internal and external training sessions, and seek sign-off to finalize it. Conduct quality training sessions as per the plan to raise quality awareness within the region. Coordinate with third-party organizations to facilitate external training sessions.
- Continuous Improvements - Improvise the QMS system for improving process effectiveness, efficiency and adherence to required standards and ensure compliance to applicable standards. Regularly benchmark quality practices against industry standards to identify opportunities for improvement and lead the same in collaboration with the projects team. Drive process standardization initiatives to streamline quality processes and enhance efficiency across all areas of quality.
- People Management - Build a strong team to achieve business objectives. Provide functional expertise and mentoring to teams and build strong talent pipeline. Set performance expectations, review team performance and provide constructive feedback. Identify training needs for team members and ensure the execution of the required training programs in a timely manner.
