Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) – Full-Time/Part-Time.

Location: Calgary, Alberta.
Work Setting: In-person (No remote work).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients for dental examinations and assist the dentist during procedures and treatments.
  • Sterilize, organize, and maintain dental instruments and equipment.
  • Prepare dental materials, including fillings, compounds, and impression materials.
  • Take and develop dental X-rays in accordance with safety standards.
  • Polish teeth and clinical crowns; apply fluoride and dental sealants.
  • Take preliminary impressions for diagnostic casts and assist in treatment planning.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care.
  • Perform clerical and administrative tasks such as:
    • Scheduling appointments and managing patient records.
    • Preparing invoices and processing payments.
    • Recording dental procedures performed.
    • Ordering dental and office supplies.
  • Perform intra-oral duties as permitted, which may include:
    • Removing sutures and taking vital signs.
    • Applying topical anesthetics, desensitizing, and anti-cariogenic agents.
    • Performing coronal whitening.
    • Fabricating, placing, and removing temporary crowns and restorations.
    • Applying and removing rubber dams.
    • Conducting pulp vitality testing, periodontal screening, and recording.

Qualifications:
  • Certified Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) with current provincial licensing.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Proficiency in dental software is an asset.
