Registered Nurse

Reporting to the Clinical Manager, the Registered Nurse working in RESSCU accepts privileges and responsibilities of authority, accountability and autonomy for patient care and professional development. The RN will provide patient-centered nursing care for oncology patients based on the values of respect, caring, innovation and accountability. As part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare team, the RN will interact with a Nurse Practitioner, General Practitioners in Oncology (GPOs), Oncologists, specialized Oncology Nurses, Allied Health professionals, diagnostic services, the Emergency Department, inpatient units at JHCC and CCAC. Nursing care is provided for patients and their families based upon competencies of expert oncology symptom management, navigating the system, maintaining professional practice, and through collaborative and evidence-based nursing practice.
