Position Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering evidence-based clinical care to residents, in accordance with medical directives and organizational protocols. The RN plays a key role in coordinating and supervising the daily functions of the nursing team to ensure safe, compassionate, and high-quality patient care. Responsibilities include clinical assessment, implementation of care plans, medication administration, documentation, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties:
•Carry out medical orders as prescribed by the Medical Director and adhere to the directives issued by the Head Nurse.
• Refrain from altering treatment plans, initiating intravenous therapy, or modifying medication regimens without prior authorization from the physician.
• Administer medications and therapeutic interventions accurately and document all administrations, including date, time, dosage, and signature, in the medical record.
• Perform routine vital sign monitoring (e.g., blood pressure, heart rate) and blood glucose testing per physician orders or nursing judgment.
• Maintain current and individualized nursing care plans and progress notes for each resident, updating them based on medical condition and treatment progress.
• Monitor and document any changes in clinical status and report abnormalities promptly to the physician and/or Head Nurse.
• Assist with diagnostic procedures, clinical examinations, and therapeutic interventions as required.
• Document urinary output volumes and ensure the proper management of indwelling catheter care.
• Perform ECG per physician order or nursing judgement.
• Perform appropriate wound care.
• Enforce proper patient positioning and mobilization schedules to prevent pressure injuries.
• Ensure that residents’ rooms and personal hygiene are maintained according to infection prevention and control protocols.
• Manage the institution’s resources efficiently, report any damages to Maintenance Department and Head Nurse.
• Communicate with residents in a professional, calm manner.
• In the event of patient death, prepare the deceased respectfully and in accordance with established procedures for transport to the morgue.
• Ensure proper segregation and disposal of medical and non-medical waste per institutional policies and health regulations.
Nursing Supervision and Support:
• Supervise and guide Assistant Nurses (ANs) and other support staff to ensure compliance with standards of care.
• Provide direct assistance in patient hygiene, toileting, feeding, and mobility activities as needed, ensuring dignity and respect are maintained.
• Promote teamwork and respectful communication among all members of the nursing staff.
Administrative and Operational Duties:
• Maintain accurate and complete clinical records in accordance with organizational policy.
• Communicate effectively and objectively with both the clinical and administrative teams regarding patient care and nursing operations.
• Ensure the proper handover of care during shift changes and confirm the presence of all staff members before concluding duty.
• Conduct weekly inventory checks of medications and medical supplies. Promptly report any discrepancies or potential shortages to the Head Nurse.
• Sterilize equipment/gauze as needed in accordance with organizational policy.
• Report all workplace incidents, including clinical errors and conflicts, to the appropriate supervisory personnel (General Manager/Medical Director/Head Nurse) and assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Other Duties:
Fulfil additional responsibilities as assigned by the General Manager or Clinical Supervisors based on operational needs.
Uphold the organization’s standards for ethical conduct, confidentiality, patient safety, and professional accountability.
