The FMC OR is the Adult Quaternary Level 1 Trauma Centre serving Southern Alberta and surrounding areas. Our OR includes 32 operating rooms and surgeries are performed 365 days per year. Our multidisciplinary team includes Surgeons, Anesthesiolgists, Perioperative RNs, ORTs, RN First Assists and support staff. We proudly provide surgical interventions for over 22,000 patients yearly with the highest standard of care. FMC OR partners with the U of C to provide a teaching environment for medical and nursing students. We are proud to be the Calgary Zone Centre of Excellence for Trauma, Cardiac Open Heart, Neurological, Thoracic, Spine and Organ Transplant surgeries. We are a world leader in the development of the MRI Operative Suite and Interventional Hybrid Trauma and Cardiac Operating rooms.
