Remote Backend Java Engineer

Job Description

A financial company in the Cincinnati, OH area is seeking Backend Java Engineers to help support several large initiatives across one of their largest customer applications. These individuals will be supporting migration and modernization efforts in response to a recent acquisition. This opportunity will be a contract role through the end of the year and can sit remotely (EST).

Other responsibilities will include:

•Work within a large, legacy Java 8 / J2EE codebase to maintain, refactor, and modernize existing components.
• Develop and enhance Java/Spring Boot services that interact with DB2 and Oracle databases.
• Support integration efforts tied to the Comerica acquisition, including processing inbound files through Python applications and ensuring accurate data movement into DB2 and downstream Java services.
