Job Title: Remote Financial Controller (100% Work From Home)

Location: Remote from Latin America

Position Type: Full-time

Salary : $3,000 USD/month paid via Payoneer

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm Pacific Time (with 30mins of unpaid lunch)

Job Overview

The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing the company’s accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting. This role manages the accounting team, maintains internal controls, ensures compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and provides financial insights to support business decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS and internal accounting policies
  • Review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports
  • Internal Controls & Compliance
  • Design, implement, and maintain effective internal controls
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, tax, and statutory requirements
  • Coordinate and manage external audits and auditor relationships
  • Support SOX compliance and risk management initiatives (if applicable)
  • Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis
  • Assist with preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts
  • Monitor financial performance and analyze variances
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to management
  • Support cash flow planning and working capital management
  • Tax & Treasury Oversight
  • Oversee preparation and filing of income, sales, payroll, and other taxes
  • Coordinate with external tax advisors and consultants
  • Ensure proper revenue recognition and expense matching
  • Systems & Process Improvement
  • Maintain and optimize accounting systems and ERP platforms
  • Lead process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
  • Develop and document accounting policies and procedures
  • Manage, mentor, and develop accounting staff
  • Set performance goals and conduct evaluations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior leadership
  • Act as a key financial advisor to the executive team

Qualifications, Skills, and Key Competencies

Required (Non-Negotiable):

  • Impeccable spoken and written English (near-native fluency required)
  • Ability to work 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Pacific Standard Time consistently
  • Very upbeat, positive, and professional phone presence
  • Prior experience in accounting, more specifically as a controller
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable using CRM systems, accounting software, and standard office tools
  • Must be on camera and presentable at all times during working hours, as if working in an in-office environment
  • Comfortable working in a highly collaborative, live-communication setting
  • Reliable internet connection and a quiet, professional workspace

Preferred/Nice to Have:

  • Experience in home services, construction, trades, or field service industries
  • Experience working remotely with a U.S.-based company
  • Ability to manage high call volume and shifting priorities calmly
  • US Tax preparation
