Job Description
- Analyze market quality data and customer feedback related to vehicle steering systems to identify recurring issues and root causes.
- Lead cross-functional quality investigations and coordinate corrective action plans with engineering, production, and supply chain teams.
- Develop and implement quality improvement strategies to reduce defect rates and enhance product reliability.
- Monitor and report on key quality metrics (e.g., field failure rates, warranty claims, NCRs) and provide actionable insights to senior management.
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal manufacturing units to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.
- Support the development of new steering system designs by providing quality input during the design validation and testing phases.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of quality incidents, resolutions, and lessons learned.
- Ensure compliance with ISO/TS 16949, IATF 16949, and other relevant automotive quality standards.
- Act as the primary liaison between customers, field service teams, and internal quality departments on quality-related concerns
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in automotive quality assurance, product quality, or field quality management, preferably in steering systems or powertrain components.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, Excel, SPSS) and statistical process control (SPC).
- In-depth knowledge of automotive quality standards (IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, 8D, PDCA).
- Experience with root cause analysis techniques and corrective action systems (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across departments.
- Familiarity with automotive manufacturing processes and supply chain dynamics.
