Job Description

  • Develop and implement comprehensive painting and coating specifications in alignment with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Conduct detailed surface preparation assessments and approve methods such as blast cleaning, abrasive blasting, and solvent cleaning.
  • Supervise painting operations on-site, ensuring adherence to technical specifications, safety protocols, and environmental regulations.
  • Perform quality inspections and non-destructive testing (NDT) of coated surfaces, including adhesion, thickness, and holiday detection.
  • Collaborate with project managers, structural engineers, and procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and compliance with timelines.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to field teams on proper coating application techniques and safety procedures.
  • Investigate and resolve coating failures, conducting root cause analysis and recommending corrective actions.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of painting processes, test results, and compliance records for audit and reporting purposes.
  • Stay updated on emerging coating technologies, industry best practices, and regulatory changes to drive continuous improvement.




Requirements



  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Materials Engineering (or equivalent field).
  • 5–10 years of progressive experience in industrial painting, coating systems, or corrosion control engineering.
  • In-depth knowledge of international standards including ISO 12944, SSPC, NACE, and ASTM.
  • Proven experience with coating application methods: spray, brush, roller, and electrostatic.
  • Familiarity with coating types: epoxy, polyurethane, zinc-rich primers, and high-build coatings.
  • Strong understanding of corrosion prevention strategies and lifecycle cost analysis.
  • Proficiency in using inspection tools such as coating thickness gauges, holiday detectors, and adhesion testers.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites across Vadodara and surrounding regions as needed.
