The selected candidate will work directly on client engagements, supporting the preparation and delivery of R&D tax claims and technical documentation for international clients in a fully remote capacity from India.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced R&D Tax Consultant to support international clients with R&D tax incentive and credit claims. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with international R&D tax consulting firms and a strong understanding of how R&D incentives are assessed, documented, and claimed for clients operating in technology, engineering, life sciences, and other innovation-driven sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the preparation and delivery of R&D tax credit and incentive claims for international clients
- Work with client technical and finance teams to identify qualifying R&D activities and expenditures
- Draft clear, compliant technical narratives and supporting documentation aligned with local and international R&D tax guidelines
- Analyse financial data, cost breakdowns, and project information to calculate eligible R&D claims
- Collaborate with offshore/onshore consulting teams to ensure high-quality, timely delivery
- Stay up to date with R&D tax legislation, guidance, and best practices across relevant jurisdictions
- Assist with audits, enquiries, and follow-up questions from tax authorities (as required)
- Maintain strong documentation, quality control, and internal reporting standards
Required Experience & Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in R&D tax consulting, ideally with an international R&D tax advisory or consulting firm
- Proven experience supporting clients serviced in jurisdictions such as the UK, US, EU, Australia, or similar markets
- Strong understanding of R&D tax incentive frameworks and eligibility criteria
- Experience working with technical teams (engineering, software, product, scientific teams) to extract R&D information
- Ability to interpret financial data and align it with R&D tax requirements
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
Preferred Skills & Background
- Background in engineering, science, technology, finance, accounting, or tax
- Experience with UK R&D Tax Relief, US R&D Tax Credit, or similar international schemes
- Familiarity with working in remote, cross-border teams and client-facing environments
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple client deliverables
