DIRECTOR OF NURSING/RESIDENT CARE DIRECTOR
Overview
Sunrise Senior Living is seeking a Director of Nursing/Resident Care Director to lead wellness and resident care in the community, coordinate care across departments, and ensure quality of life for residents in accordance with laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership for wellness/resident care in the community by coordinating care and services with each department; manage the nursing and medication aides; partner with colleagues who manage the certified nursing assistant team.
- Uphold state and federal law to promote the health and wellness of the resident population.
- Provide clinical care through the wellness process; perform and document resident assessments, complete Individualized Service Plans, provide or delegate hands-on clinical care as indicated by the plan of care, and evaluate resident outcomes.
- Provide oversight of the community medication management program to promote resident safety in the medication use process.
- Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and other clinical providers to coordinate care and services for residents within the community.
- Provide clinical training and education as needed to nurses, medication aides, certified nursing assistants, care managers, and others who provide resident care; perform skill evaluations to develop and promote clinical capabilities of team members.
- Track, trend, and report clinical quality data to identify risk; participate in the community Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement committee; lead clinical quality and process improvement initiatives to mitigate risk and improve resident care outcomes.
- Recruit, hire, and train clinical team members; oversee performance management, evaluation, and engagement.
- Complete direct report staffing and scheduling according to operational and budgetary guidelines.
Experience & Qualifications
- RN; one year in home health, assisted living, or long-term care preferred.
- Nursing management experience preferred including hiring, coaching, performance management, scheduling, and/or daily operations supervision.
- Experience in tracking, trending, and analyzing clinical performance data preferred.
