Job Description
- Conduct property appraisals for residential and commercial mortgages intended for the secondary market.
- Review and validate appraisal reports to ensure compliance with investor guidelines (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA).
- Analyze market trends, comparable sales, and property conditions to determine fair market value.
- Collaborate with underwriting, loan origination, and secondary market teams to support loan packaging and sales.
- Ensure appraisal documentation meets regulatory and investor requirements for securitization and loan transfers.
- Provide valuation insights for mortgage-backed securities (MBS) and secondary market transactions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of appraisal regulations, secondary market standards, and industry best practices.
- Assist in audits and due diligence processes related to mortgage loan sales.Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or related field.
- Licensed/Certified Residential or General Appraiser (state-specific certification required).
- 3–5 years of experience in mortgage appraisal, preferably with exposure to the secondary market.
- Strong knowledge of secondary market investor guidelines (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Ginnie Mae).
- Proficiency in appraisal software (ACI, Alamode, CoreLogic) and MS Excel.
- Excellent analytical, research, and report-writing skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
