Job Description

  • Conduct property appraisals for residential and commercial mortgages intended for the secondary market.
  • Review and validate appraisal reports to ensure compliance with investor guidelines (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA).
  • Analyze market trends, comparable sales, and property conditions to determine fair market value.
  • Collaborate with underwriting, loan origination, and secondary market teams to support loan packaging and sales.
  • Ensure appraisal documentation meets regulatory and investor requirements for securitization and loan transfers.
  • Provide valuation insights for mortgage-backed securities (MBS) and secondary market transactions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of appraisal regulations, secondary market standards, and industry best practices.
  • Assist in audits and due diligence processes related to mortgage loan sales.Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or related field.
  • Licensed/Certified Residential or General Appraiser (state-specific certification required).
  • 3–5 years of experience in mortgage appraisal, preferably with exposure to the secondary market.
  • Strong knowledge of secondary market investor guidelines (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Ginnie Mae).
  • Proficiency in appraisal software (ACI, Alamode, CoreLogic) and MS Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, research, and report-writing skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
