The Opportunity
We are currently seeking an experienced Geologist to join our Resource Development team at our Duketon Gold Operations.
As a key member of the team, you will be primarily responsible for supporting diamond core and reverse circulation drilling programs to define gold resources across our extensive Duketon operation, located approximately 130 km east of Laverton, WA.
In this role, you will work closely with the Exploration, Resource Estimation and Mining teams to safely execute drilling programs and ensure the collection of accurate, high-quality geological data.
This is a FIFO position operating on an 8:6 roster, ex-Perth.
The main responsibilities of this role include:
- Ensure work programs are carried out safely and efficiently;
- Supervision and geological logging of resource definition drilling programs;
- Data capture and loading, ensuring all data is accurate and validated prior to incorporation into database;
- Report drill results or significant finds to management promptly;
- Production of periodical internal and external technical reports as required; and
- Provide input to mineralisation delineation, resource assessment, and geological modelling.
About you
To be successful for this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualification in Geology or related discipline;
- Possess a sound knowledge of mineral systems, especially orogenic gold;
- Sound understanding of secondary mineralisation processes;
- Experience with geological logging and interpretation;
- Conversant with GIS and 3D software packages (Leapfrog, Micromine, ArcGIS);
- Familiarity with open pit and underground operations highly regarded;
- Exercises sound business judgment, a solid work ethic,
- Strong focus on safety and efficiency; and
Excellent communication and report writing skills.
