Role Overview
The Retail Presales Architect is responsible for designing and positioning high-impact retail and commerce technology solutions. This role guides Sales through domain knowledge, architecture expertise, and insights into modern omnichannel retail trends.
The Retail Presales Architect:
- Trains and handholds Sales on core Retail & CPG domains: Omnichannel, POS/Store Ops, Merchandising, Supply Chain, eCommerce, CRM, PIM/MDM, Loyalty, Retail Analytics.
- Supports lead qualification and discovery calls across US EST/PST/CST time zones to validate opportunities and guide early solution positioning.
- Research trending retail technologies (AI-driven merchandising, RFID/IoT, micro-fulfilment, conversational commerce, Agentic AI for retail ops) and supports Inside Sales with campaign messaging and persona-based outreach.
- Provides thought leadership through LinkedIn posts, retail-focused blogs, PoVs, and market insights to strengthen ACL Digital’s positioning in Retail & CPG.
- Maintains and manages retail-specific sales collateral , including solution decks, capability documents, case studies, domain playbooks, templates, and digital content libraries.
- Works with Delivery and domain SMEs to ensure solution feasibility, scalability, and alignment with retail best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Retail Solutioning
- Create solution blueprints and architectures across retail systems (POS, OMS, WMS, eCommerce, PIM, CRM, Loyalty, Analytics).
- Support RFP/RFI responses with both technical and domain-rich content.
- Build omni-channel, merchandise planning, and supply-chain workflow diagrams.
Sales & GTM Enablement
- Prepare decks, use case catalogues, ROI models, and retail playbooks.
- Guide Sales on positioning ACL Digital’s value across merchandising, customer experience, fulfilment, and analytics programs.
- Conduct internal retail domain training sessions.
Research & Thought Leadership
- Track industry trends—AI-native retail, dynamic pricing, smart stores, advanced forecasting, phygital experience.
- Contribute articles, PoVs, social posts, and whitepapers tailored to retail personas.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education
- MBA (preferably Sales/Marketing) + BE/BTech in Information Science/Technology
- 7+ CGPA or First Division in both degrees.
Technical Skills
- Strong fundamentals in programming, SQL/NoSQL, data engineering, analytics concepts, AI/ML basics, and QA/automation.
- Knowledge of SDLC, PM, PGM, and retail engineering practices.
Architecture & Design Skills
- Ability to design retail system architectures across POS, OMS, WMS, eCommerce, CRM, PIM/MDM, Loyalty, Analytics.
- Experience with omni-channel flow diagrams, customer journey maps, merchandising & supply chain process models.
- Understanding of cloud-native, API-led, microservices retail design.
- Exposure to AI/ML architecture , Agentic AI workflows , RPA , IPA , and automation frameworks applicable to retail back-office and store operations.
- Ability to evaluate scalability, performance, and operational efficiency in retail environments.
Retail Domain Skills
- Knowledge of store operations, merchandising, supply chain planning, eCommerce/OMS workflows, loyalty/CRM, planograms, inventory planning, and retail data models.
- Familiarity with retail platforms: Salesforce Commerce, Shopify, SAP Retail, Oracle Retail, Manhattan, Blue Yonder (preferred).
Soft Skills
- Excellent English communication and presentation skills.
- French or Spanish proficiency is highly desirable.
- Strong consultative selling & customer-facing ability.
Preferred Certifications
- Cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP), Retail platform certifications, TOGAF, ITIL, PMP/SAFe.
