Inventory & Merchandise Planner (Retail)

Role Overview : We are looking for a Merchandise Planner (Retail) who will support day-to-day inventory planning, replenishment, and reporting for offline retail stores. The role requires close coordination with retail ops, warehouse, finance, and data teams to ensure optimal stock availability, accurate reporting, and smooth store operations. This is a hands-on role suited for candidates early in their career with strong analytical thinking and execution skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Planning & Replenishment

• Assist in store-wise and SKU-wise inventory planning based on sales trends and stock availability • Support weekly replenishment planning for retail stores

• Track BOH vs Display inventory and ensure correct stock movement

• Identify slow-moving and non-selling SKUs and support pullback / redistribution decisions

• Monitor stock coverage, OOS risk, and excess inventory Systems & Data Management

• Work on Uniware for inventory tracking, stock movement, and reconciliation

• Support order and sales data tracking from Shopify (D2C reference data)

• Ensure accuracy between POS, Uniware, and internal reports

• Maintain master files and trackers in Excel Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare daily / weekly / monthly inventory and sales reports

• Track key retail KPIs such as: o Sell-through o Stock cover o ADSR (Average Daily Sales Rate) o Store-wise performance

• Assist in basic dashboards and MIS (Power BI exposure is a plus, not mandatory)

Cross-Functional Coordination • Coordinate with:

Retail store teams

o Warehouse / logistics teams

o Finance (for reconciliations, closures)

o Data / analytics teams • Support gate pass creation, dispatch coordination, and follow-ups

• Ensure timely communication for stock movement and discrepancies

Required Skills & Qualifications Must-Have

• 6–8 months of experience in retail operations / inventory / supply chain support

• Working knowledge of Uniware •

Basic understanding of Shopify sales data

• Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, basic formulas)

• Good coordination and communication skills

• Attention to detail and ability to work with numbers Good to Have

• Exposure to Power BI or any reporting tool

• Understanding of retail metrics like sell-through, stock cover, and ADSR

• Experience working with mall stores or offline retail setups Behavioral & Functional Traits
