Revenue Assurance Analytics Lead

Purpose of the Role:

To lead the identification and mitigation of revenue leakage through advanced data analytics, automated exception reporting, and real-time dashboarding. The incumbent will be responsible for building technical "guardrails" across the revenue cycle, ensuring that discrepancies are caught and resolved with high precision.

Key Responsibilities:

Data-Driven Exception Management:

• Automated Reconciliation: Design and maintain complex SQL-based queries to reconcile orders, invoices, and payments, ensuring 100% transaction accuracy.
• Visual Analytics: Build and own interactive Tableau/Power BI dashboards to monitor key risk areas, including shipping charges, discount/promo rule compliance, and margin fluctuations.
• Gap Identification: Proactively identify data "leakages" or process gaps by stitching together data sets from internal databases, and 3rd party logistics (3PL) platforms.
• Automated Alerting: Implement automated notification workflows (via Tableau alerts or SQL triggers) to notify stakeholders immediately of anomalies, such as breach of promo limits or suspicious transaction patterns

System & Control Optimization:

• Logic Validation: Conduct pre-launch and post-launch testing of new product configurations and discount engines to prevent revenue-impacting errors.
• Fraud Detection: Develop and monitor fraud detection dashboards to analyse customer behaviour, reward/wallet balances, and gift card transactions.
• Trend Analysis: Implement Time Intelligence calculations (YoY, MoM) within dashboards to support financial forecasting and variance justification for the finance team.

Process & Business Support:

• Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with Catalog, Finance, and Tech teams to drive the closure of exceptions in a time-bound manner.
• Data Transformation: Utilize Power Query to clean and transform complex, high-volume data sets to improve reporting efficiency and reliability.
• Documentation: Maintain technical SOPs for all automated dashboards and SQL queries to ensure knowledge continuity.

Work Experience & Skills Required

• 3–6 years of experience in Revenue Assurance, Data Analytics, or Audit, with a heavy focus on technical exception reporting.
• Moderate/Advanced level SQL Skills: Ability to write complex queries (Joins, CTEs, Window Functions) for data extraction and reconciliation.
• Visualization Proficiency: Proven track record of building production-grade dashboards in Tableau or Power BI.
• Automation Mindset: Experience in replacing manual Excel-based checks with automated scripts or dashboard alerts.
• Financial Acumen: Understanding of e-commerce revenue flows, including discounts, shipping, margins, and wallet reconciliations.
• Problem Solving: Ability to perform deep-dive "root cause analysis" into why a leakage occurred and suggest technical fixes.

Skills

• Core: Advanced SQL, Tableau, Power BI, and Power Query.
• Supplementary: MS Excel, MS Access (Advanced), SAP/ERP exposure, and familiarity with data stitching across different platforms.
• Excellent command over English (Written & Verbal).
• Ability to translate complex technical data findings into actionable insights for non-technical senior management.
• Engineering Background: B.E./B.Tech (CS/IT), BCA, or MCA.
• Finance/Business: Graduate in Commerce or MBA (Finance) with strong technical certifications.
