Designation: Payload RF Design Engineer


SAMTEL Avionics invites applications for a Payload RF Design Engineer in its new space vertical, focusing on RF package design, high-power and low-power components, antenna design, simulation, and analysis for satellite payloads in Satcom applications.


Key Responsibilities


  • Design and simulate RF packages, including high-power amplifiers, low-noise amplifiers, and filters for Ka-band, S-band, and X-band satellite transponders.
  • Develop antennas and perform electromagnetic simulations using tools like HFSS or CST to optimize payload performance and integration.
  • Collaborate with systems engineering teams to conduct link budget analysis, trade studies, and design optimization for end-to-end satellite payload functionality.


Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in RF Engineering, Electronics, or Aerospace Engineering with emphasis on microwave systems.
  • 1-4 years of experience in RF/microwave design for space or defence applications, including simulation and analysis.
  • Proficiency in RF tools (HFSS, ADS, MATLAB) and understanding of satellite frequency bands (Ka, S, X).


Preferred Skills


  • Hands-on experience with high-power RF components, antenna prototyping, and thermal management in vacuum environments.
  • Familiarity with space standards (ECSS, MIL-STD) and integration testing for payload subsystems.
  • Strong analytical skills for optimizing designs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams at SAMTEL Avionics.
