The opportunity

We’re looking for experienced professionals with experience in the Energy sector and Internal Audit/ Risk to join our Process & Controls Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a leading firm whilst being instrumental in the growth of our service offering. This position will be based out of our offices (Kochi/ Thiruvananthapuram) in the beautiful state of Kerala.

Working in our practice, you will have the opportunity to work with clients to provide practical risk management, internal audit solutions and gaining valuable experience in a variety of clients.

Your key responsibilities

  • The current role requires executing internal audit and other risk consulting engagements for energy companies. As part of the role, the candidate is expected to:

  • Responsible for leading and executing client engagements and meeting the expectations of the client and the onsite team within the MENA region.

  • Ability to interact with all levels of management, including C-Suite management

  • Perform end-to-end internal audits from planning to reporting including process understanding, walkthroughs, preparation of risk and control matrix / audit work program, control testing to assess their design and operating effectiveness, preparation of audit report and agreeing issues/ actions with management.

  • Have an in-depth understanding of the Oil & Gas upstream industry risks/ issues / trends and end-to-end business processes.

  • Have thorough knowledge and understanding of Internal Audit methodology and IIA requirements.

  • Deliver / manage engagements to time, cost and high quality.

  • Identify key areas of improvement in the client's business processes and add value by preparing insightful recommendations. 

  • Contribute to business development activities such as preparing proposals, lead identification

  • Always comply with the firm’s quality and risk management policies

  • Manage multiple assignments and related project teams.

  • Maintain excellent rapport and proactive communication with the client

  • Mentor and coach junior team members, enabling them to meet their performance goals and successfully grow their careers

  • Manage the engagement budgets and support superiors in developing marketing collaterals, business proposals and new solution / methodology development

  • Proficient in MS-Office Suite, data analysis & validation
  • To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering with specialisation in Oil & Gas or relevant professional qualification such as CA, ACCA, CIA.

  • PMP certification holders will be preferred

  • Experience in Internal Audit /Risk Management with Oil & Gas upstream sector focus

  • Experience working in Oil and Gas Drilling and / or Oil Field Service Companies, or Exploration & Production (E&P) Companies or working as Drilling Engineers, Rig Foreman, or in Warehousing and Logistics for Drilling Operations.

  • Understanding and knowledge of key HSE and reliability / integrity standards for upstream facilities.

  • Understanding related to petroleum costs & affiliate / related party charges, upstream contracts, business and operating plans, work program and budgets, cost allocations, affiliate costs with upstream sector.

  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience

  • A valid passport for travel.

  • Internal Audit Software Such as Teammate and ERP Exposure such as SAP, Oracle to extract reports (contracting/procurement/material management modules).
