River and Coastal Captain American Cruise Lines is seeking experienced Captains for our expanding fleet that travels unique routes along some of the most beautiful inland and coastal waterways. Our state-of-the-art U.S. flagged ships provide safe operations and exceptional service to 100-200 guests. As a Captain, you will be the senior officer responsible for the safe operation of the vessel, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards while serving as a professional leader. Key Responsibilities: Ensure safety and security of passengers, crew, and vessel. Oversee safe vessel operations in compliance with all standards. Conduct prudent vessel maneuvering, docking, and anchoring. Perform comprehensive daily inspections of all interior and exterior vessel spaces. Supervise and develop Mates, Engineers, and Deckhands. Oversee Hotel Officers and Service Crew to ensure exceptional guest service. Welcome guests at the gangway, make safety announcements, and host special dining events. Maintain administrative logs, reports, and communications. Foster a safe, secure, clean, and comfortable environment onboard for everyone. Typical schedule: 6 weeks on / 3 weeks off or 4 weeks on / 4 weeks off from March to November. Qualifications: U.S. Coast Guard Master's license: minimum 100T, preferred 1600T or greater. Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC). A minimum of 2 years experience as a Captain on coastal and river waterways; 5 years preferred, with Z-drive experience. Strong communication and team-building skills. Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and participate in random drug testing. Benefits: Competitive salary.
