RN-BH Intake Coordinator

The Intake Coordinator is a member of the Mental Health Center Team who provides screening, case disposition, and referrals for incoming telephone calls, walk-in inquiries about service, and inquiries from within the hospital. The position requires competent, independent decision-making as well as collaboration with other disciplines and outside agencies to determine and obtain the most appropriate level of psychiatric care.

The Intake Coordinator administratively reports to the Director of the Mental Health Center and executes responsibilities under the supervision of the Department of Psychiatry Chairperson. In the performance of all duties, the Intake Coordinator complies with the Illinois Mental Health & Developmental Disabilities Code, hospital policies, procedures, and by-laws and reflects the philosophy, mission, and values of the institution.
