Sentara Obici Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Coordinator to join our Surgical Short Stay (SSU) Observation Unit! This is a full time, night shift in Suffolk, VA.
Hours: 7p to 7a with rotating weekends
Hours: 7A to 7P with rotating weekend schedule.
The Observation/Short Stay Unit is an 18-bed department that specializes in observation, post-procedural monitoring, and short-term treatments, including TIA workups, stress tests, and radiology procedures. The maximum stay is typically two days per patient. Registered nurses can expect between 6 and 8 patient discharges per shift, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:5 to 1:6.
