Job Description
Robotics Engineer JD
Hyderabad, India | Full-time
We’re looking for a hands-on Robotics Engineer who loves building real system, not just talking about them.
This role is meant for someone who enjoys wiring sensors, debugging ROS nodes at midnight, fixing robots before demos, creating reading materials, recording video tutorials, and guiding students by building alongside them .
If your idea of impact is a robot or physical AI system that actually works in the real world , you’ll feel at home here.
What you will do
- Build and deploy Physical AI systems
- Autonomous navigation, manipulation, perception, and control
- ROS-based systems that survive real-world noise, latency, and hardware issues
- Guide student teams by building
- Create reference implementations students can follow
- Unblock teams stuck at hardware–software integration
- Teach fundamentals through working systems, not slides
- Prepare robots for demos and competitions
- Ensure robots work reliably under time pressure
- Debug failures across sensors, actuators, firmware, and software
- Harden systems so they don’t break on stage
- Create scalable learning assets
- Record practical videos and write cookbooks based on real builds
- Help students move from zero to working Physical AI projects
- Continuously push lab capabilities
- Build new demo projects that expand what the lab can showcase
- Experiment with emerging approaches (e.g., VLAs, imitation learning, LeRobot)
What success looks like (12 months)
- 30+ student teams ship end-to-end Physical AI projects with strong fundamentals
- Robots run reliably during demos, showcases, and competitions
- Students build with clarity instead of copy-pasting
- The lab visibly levels up in capability and ambition
Non-negotiables (read carefully)
You must be able to:
- Independently build ROS-based systems
- Example: autonomous navigation using SLAM
- Learn and implement new Physical AI stacks hands-on
- Example: adapting VLAs or LeRobot for pick-and-place
- Debug hardware–software issues under pressure
- Trade perfection for reliability when deadlines matter
Background we’re looking for
- 0–2 years of experience in robotics, Physical AI, hardware systems, or deep-tech programs
- Strong hands-on experience in robotics / Physical AI
- Comfort with ROS, sensors, actuators, control, and system integration
- Experience building real robots (not just coursework)
- Competition / lab / demo experience is a big plus
Degrees matter less than proof of execution .
If this JD made you think: “I’ve built something like this before, and I want to build more”
We should talk.
