Overview

Primary Purpose: The safety advisor is an Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) specialist responsible for implementing and managing safety management systems across various colleges and units. This role involves overseeing incident management, conducting investigations, and leading injury prevention initiatives. The safety advisor develops and delivers safety training programs. This position leads and supports multiple safety programs and initiatives to meet or exceed regulatory compliance standards, while aligning with strategic goals.

Nature of Work

The safety advisor collaborates with management, contractors, and other leaders to implement health and safety systems and programs, ensuring regulatory compliance. The role involves working with stakeholders to meet legislative requirements, implement policies and procedures related to health and safety, and promote industry best practices.
