Position: Officer- EHS
Department: EHS
Experience : 1 to 4 years
Qualification: Diploma / BE Engineering, Science, or Safety Management.
Critical Skills & Personal Attributes
- Strong knowledge of oil & gas hazards and controls.
- Familiarity with international EHS standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, OHSAS).
- Understanding of local statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of emergency response, firefighting, and first aid.
- Ability to read and interpret method statements and risk assessments.
- Strong communication, reporting, and interpersonal skills.
- Offshore experience (if applicable).
- Experience working with EPC contractors and clients.
- H2 S awareness and training certification.
- Computer proficiency (MS Excel, Word, Power Point).
Main responsibility
Health & Safety
- Implement and enforce EHS policies, procedures, and safe work practices at site.
- Conduct Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Risk Assessments, and Toolbox Talks (TBT).
- Monitor high-risk activities including hot work, confined space entry, working at height, lifting operations, and excavation.
- Ensure compliance with Permit to Work (PTW) systems.
- Carry out regular site inspections, safety audits, and behavior-based safety observations.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe acts; prepare incident investigation reports and corrective actions.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and safety equipment.
- Monitor environmental aspects such as waste management, spill prevention, emissions, and hazardous material handling.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and client environmental management plans.
- Conduct environmental inspections and report non-conformances.
Training & Awareness
- Conduct EHS inductions, safety trainings, and emergency drills.
- Promote safety awareness and continuous improvement across the workforce.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain EHS documentation including MSDS, risk registers, inspection reports, training records, and statutory registers.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly EHS performance reports.
- Support internal and external EHS audits (ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
