Safety Officer/WHS Engineer - Contractor Management & Permit Control

Ignite is proud to partner with a multinational manufacturing business, seeking an experienced Safety Officer/WHS Project Engineer (12 Month contract period) to oversee contractor safety, high‑risk work permits, and critical control verification across a complex, high‑risk industrial site.

This is a hands‑on, site‑based role ideal for someone who thrives in fast‑paced brownfield environments, has strong WHS knowledge, and is confident engaging with contractors and trades on a daily basis.

About the Role

In this role you will ensure all contractor activities are planned, controlled, and executed safely in accordance with the WHS Act, Regulations and relevant Codes of Practice.

You will play a key part in the administration of the Permit‑to‑Work system, field verification of safety controls, and supporting project and shutdown activities.
