We help nurseries, preschools, and childcare chains streamline operations and deliver exceptional parent experiences. As we scale across India and other global markets, we are strengthening our sales development team to support pipeline growth and customer engagement.


Role Overview


This is an inside sales / sales development role , focused on lead qualification, prospect engagement, and opportunity progression . The SDR will work closely with the Senior Business Development Manager (BDM) to support deal execution, nurture prospects, and ensure a strong, consistent sales pipeline.


The role emphasizes phone calls, video meetings, email, and CRM-driven follow-ups , while strategic deal ownership and closures remain with the BDM.


Key Responsibilities


1. Prospect Engagement & Lead Qualification

  • Engage inbound and outbound leads via calls, emails, WhatsApp, and virtual meetings
  • Qualify prospects based on fit, need, timeline, and readiness
  • Understand customer pain points and position Illumine’s value proposition effectively
  • Schedule qualified demos and meetings for the BDM

2. Account Nurturing & Follow-ups

  • Follow up with warm leads and previously engaged prospects
  • Nurture relationships post-demo to move accounts toward decision-making
  • Handle product clarifications, pricing queries, and coordination before closure
  • Maintain consistent communication to prevent lead drop-off

3. Sales Coordination & Support

  • Coordinate calendars, demo schedules, and follow-ups with the BDM
  • Ensure prospects are well-prepared ahead of demos and next steps
  • Act as the primary point of contact during the pre-sales phase

4. CRM Updates & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate lead, activity, and follow-up records in the CRM
  • Track deal stages and conversion progress
  • Share regular updates and insights with the BDM and sales leadership

5. Market Feedback & Collaboration

  • Share insights on customer objections, pricing sensitivity, and competitor tools
  • Relay prospect feedback to marketing and product teams
  • Support pilot customers and early-stage accounts when required


Required Qualifications

  • 0–4 years of experience in inside sales, SDR, or business development roles
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable with outbound calling and follow-ups
  • Ability to manage multiple leads and priorities independently
  • Proficiency in English (regional language proficiency is a plus)
  • Basic familiarity with CRM tools or sales tracking systems


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience selling to preschools, nurseries, education, or service-based businesses
  • Exposure to SaaS or subscription-based products
  • Experience using tools like HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho, or similar CRMs
  • Prior experience supporting a senior sales leader or BDM
