Job Description

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dynamic Sales Engineer responsible for lead generation across the entire product range, customer engagement, and end-to-end follow-up of sales cases till execution. The role involves field sales activities, technical discussions with customers, pipeline management, and order closure, primarily in the pharmaceutical and analytical laboratory segment.

Key Responsibilities:
1.
Sales Target Achievement & Pipeline Management

Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets consistently.

Maintain and update a 3-month rolling sales forecast and healthy sales pipeline.

Track targets vs. achievements and report progress regularly.

Identify, pursue, and convert competitor accounts.

2. Technical Expertise & Customer Engagement

Develop strong technical knowledge of products, instruments, applications, operations, and software.

Conduct effective technical discussions to understand customer requirements and propose suitable solutions.

Stay updated on competitor products and market trends for effective positioning.

3. Lead Generation, Field Activities & Relationship Building

Carry out extensive field sales promotions to generate inquiries and leads.

Build relationships across customer levels—from lab users to senior management.

Visit and coordinate with relevant departments to drive business opportunities.

Attend customer meetings, sales calls, and follow-ups in a timely manner.

4. Sales Execution & Order Closure

Independently close orders for standard product offerings.

Work closely with the Manager on project-based opportunities, solution design, and strategy.

Ensure optimal utilization of working time for productive sales activities.

5. Reporting, Documentation & Communication

Prepare and submit accurate and timely sales reports.

Ensure prompt email communication, proposal submission, and follow-ups.

Maintain internal records of offers, customer interactions, and sales progress.

Qualifications:

B.E / B.Tech – ECE / EIE / EEE
OR

B.Sc / M.Sc – Microbiology

Experience:

1 to 5 years of experience in technical sales / application sales / instrumentation sales.

Mandatory experience handling pharmaceutical clients.

Extensive travel within assigned territory (up to 100 km) using bus, train, or bike.

Willingness to work late hours or on holidays based on business criticality.
