Position Summary:

The Sales Engineer (SE) is the technical bridge between our Sales Representatives and their pre-sales customers. The SE owns the primary technical relationship with customers during the sales cycle, helping close deals by proactively managing and delivering technical value in person, online, and over the phone.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers, providing in-depth knowledge of Trend Micro’s cybersecurity solutions in dynamic, high-pressure pre-sales environments.

  • Conduct Proof of Concept (PoC) engagements to demonstrate product capabilities and support deployment architecture planning and implementation.

  • Troubleshoot software and network issues in complex, multi-vendor environments.

  • Continuously expand knowledge of Trend Micro’s current and upcoming products and maintain awareness of the broader security landscape.

  • Share knowledge and best practices with the SE team to promote efficiency and consistency across engagements.

  • Deliver technical training sessions to partners, customers, and internal teams when necessary.

  • Contribute to the SE Readiness Program and develop Subject Matter Expertise in assigned technologies and products.

  • Collect and communicate customer feedback and feature requests to Product Management.

  • Support alliance initiatives and collaborate with technology partners and customers to build joint value.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field – or equivalent hands-on experience in Security Software and IT Systems.

  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles, networking concepts, system architectures, and threat landscapes.

  • Proven ability to translate business problems into technical solutions and articulate technical value to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Experience & Technical Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Architecture, or Professional Services within cybersecurity or infrastructure domains.

  • Demonstrate ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects with strong problem-solving and time management skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage customers, manage accounts, and collaborate across teams.

  • Comfortable working independently while actively contributing to team goals and initiatives.

Preferred Certifications (one or more):

  • VCP – VMware Certified Professional

  • CCNA – Cisco Certified Network Associate

  • CISSP – Certified Information Systems Security Professional

  • MCP – Microsoft Certified Professional

  • MCSE – Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert

  • LPIC-1 / LPIC-2 – Linux Professional Institute Certification

  • CompTIA Security+
