A sales representative's job is to sell a company's

Responsibilities

existing customers

improve sales performance 

·Negotiate contracts : Negotiate contracts with clients 

·Close sales : Close sales deals, and achieve sales targets 

·Maintain records : Maintain records of sales leads, and prepare reports 

·Collaborate with marketing : Collaborate with marketing to build brand and coordinate
sales efforts 

Skills and qualifications 

·Excellent communication skills

·Strong understanding of the products
they are selling

·Ability to listen actively, ask the
right questions, and respond to objections

·Ability to build rapport with
potential customers

·Ability to establish trust with
customers

·Ability to maintain documentation of
sales

Other responsibilities 

·Monitor competition

·Keep up to date with industry trends

·Assist with determining schedule for
pricing, quotes, and promotions
