Roles and responsibilities for a Salesforce Architect

Solution Design And Architecture

  • Analyse business requirements, processes, and use cases to design and architect robust,

scalable, and secure Salesforce solutions.

  • Leverage Salesforce platform capabilities, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud,

Platform/System Cloud, Industry Clouds, CG Cloud, CPQ & Billing to design optimal

solutions.

  • Design data models, data flows, business processes, and integration architectures using

industry best practices and Salesforce standards.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, developers, and

stakeholders, to understand requirements and propose innovative solutions.

  • Conduct design reviews, facilitate design sessions, and provide architectural guidance

to ensure adherence to design principles and standards.

Technical Leadership

  • Serve as a subject matter expert and provide technical leadership to the Salesforce

development team.

  • Mentor and upskill team members on Salesforce architecture, design patterns, best

practices, and emerging technologies.

  • Contribute to the development of coding standards, guidelines, and best practices for

Salesforce development.

  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on code quality, maintainability, and

adherence to standards.

  • Continuously research and stay updated with Salesforce product releases, features, and

roadmaps to leverage new capabilities effectively.

Implementation And Delivery

  • Oversee the implementation and delivery of Salesforce solutions, ensuring alignment with

architectural designs and adherence to project timelines.

  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure successful implementation,

configuration, and customization of Salesforce solutions.

  • Identify and mitigate technical risks, issues, and dependencies during the

implementation phase.

  • Conduct solution demonstrations, walkthroughs, and knowledge transfer sessions for

stakeholders and end-users.

  • Ensure proper documentation of solution designs, architectures, and implementation

details for future reference and maintenance.

Integration And Data Management

  • Design and implement integration strategies between Salesforce and other systems,

leveraging tools like Mulesoft, Dell Boomi, or Salesforce Integration patterns.

  • Architect data migration and data loading strategies, ensuring data integrity and quality.
  • Develop strategies for data archiving, backup, and recovery to ensure business

continuity and compliance.

  • Design and implement data security and access control mechanisms in accordance

with industry standards and organizational policies.

Performance Optimization And Governance

  • Conduct performance assessments and optimization activities to ensure Salesforce

solutions meet performance, scalability, and reliability requirements.

  • Establish and implement governance processes, guidelines, and best practices for

Salesforce development, deployment, and maintenance.

  • Monitor and optimize Salesforce org health, including app usage, limits, and technical

debt.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and implement release management processes,

change control procedures, and deployment strategies.

Stakeholder Management And Communication

  • Act as a trusted advisor and evangelist for Salesforce solutions within the organization.
  • Effectively communicate technical concepts, designs, and solutions to both technical

and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Facilitate knowledge transfer and training sessions for end-users, ensuring successful

adoption of Salesforce solutions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as business analysts, project managers,

and stakeholders, to ensure alignment and successful delivery of Salesforce solutions.

Continuous Improvement And Innovation

  • Stay up to date with Salesforce product releases, features, and industry trends to drive

continuous improvement and innovation.

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and leveraging new

Salesforce capabilities.

  • Participate in industry events, communities, and forums to share knowledge and learn

from peers.

  • Contribute to the organization's Salesforce strategy and roadmap by providing insights

and recommendations based on industry best practices and emerging trends.

Presales And Proposal Management

  • Actively participate in presales activities, including proposal development, solution

demonstrations, and client presentations.

  • Handle and manage the presales team, providing guidance, mentorship, and technical

leadership.

  • Collaborate with sales teams to understand client requirements and propose tailored

Salesforce solutions.

  • Contribute to proposal development by providing technical details, solution

architectures, and implementation approaches.
